ALPA CORSICAN WINES
CORSICAL PARCEL SELECTION
_ ALPA DISTINCTION_

I travel all year round through Corsica’s vineyard, far and wide, looking for characteristic soils of our corsican wine heritage.
At the same time, I identify the indigenous grape varieties and the wine grower that will best express their identities.
Then comes the work of blending, where I try to make each soil tastable and contribute to the balance of the wine. Or the decision to keep exceptional grapes without blending.
There is no hierarchy in my selection: I do not favor any area, any plot. Some are smaller than a garden, and I only select a few rows of vines on others.
On the other hand, I cultivate differences because I am looking for remarkable specificities, ambassadors of the best Corsican wine.

THE BOOK OF CORSICAN TERROIRS
My signature range is the perfect summary of a collection assembled from the best grapes from every soil families that make up the “Isle of Beauty”.
These wines, from assembled AOP plots, offer you a sensory journey through the lands of Corsica, capturing all the authenticity of our exceptional region.

SPECIAL CUVEES
ZOOM ON A LOCAL GRAPE VARIETY
GROWN FROM A REMARKABLE LAND

Some plots or pieces of plots are distinguished by exceptional soils, cultivated in biodynamic AOP by an artist-winegrower.
Some years, the beauty of the fruits stands out even more, from the harvest, and is confirmed during the vinification.

I then choose to let you taste these “pure juice” gems without blending them.
In my special vintages, I suggest you zoom in, for the time of a limited edition, on a very beautiful grape variety from an exceptional island plot.
Parcel selection corsican wine
My limited editions are the result of a rigorous selection of the most perfect grapes, harvested at a precise maturity.
This is followed by vinification with the greatest care to guarantee an exemplary expression of the terroir highlighted.
Each bottle is a sensory adventure, which tells the climax of a story, where the terroir, the grape and the year blend perfectly.
THE ART OF VINIFICATION AND BLENDING

From fermentation, we daily evaluate the visual, olfactory, and gustatory qualities of the wines from each parcel.
These multiple tastings give us an evolving vision of the blending elements.

Corsican wines - ALPA selection
What Corsican wine to drink during your vacation in Corsica? If you don’t know which Corsican wine to choose, you can taste a signature vintage from ALPA. Indeed, the winery makes a plot selection taken from each type of soisl on the island: this means that you will taste a wine with a particularly typical Corsican identity, perfectly balanced between acidity, tannins, and fruit, ideal for a first approach to Corsican wine. Then taste each grape variety separately to perfect your knowledge, whether it’s a lively and fruity Sciaccarellu, or a powerful Minustellu. Choosing a Corsican wine from your wine merchant: most wine merchants only offer wines from Patrimonio in the north of the island, predominantly Niellucciu. Niellucciu has strong animal flavors that can be too “special” for everyone’s taste, especially when made in single-varietal wines. You can also buy Corsican wine directly from the producer. Several vineyards offer it on the island with an online store accessible via search engines. This is the case of ALPA, the store is here
Do you know that Corsica does not only produce rosé wine? If rosé is over-represented during your vacation, due to heat and barbecues, consider tasting a white wine made from Vermentinu, a precious white grape variety from the island. Vermentinu produces white wines that are very interesting to taste, with very different expressions depending on how it is worked. The best wines of Corsica are generally its red wines and white wines.
